KARACHI: JI wants 58-2(b) repealed
KARACHI, March 30: Jamaat-i-Islami Secretary General Syed Munawar Hassan has termed 58-2(b) the main hurdle in the way of supremacy of the parliament.
Foreign interference into domestic affairs of Pakistan would end only after the abolition of Article 58-2 (b) of the Constitution, he said while addressing a three-day training session, organised by Jamaat-i-Islami Sindh chapter at Quba Auditorium here on Sunday.
He also condemned the shifting of household articles from the official residence of deposed Justice Khalilur Rahman Ramday and called it a conspiracy against the new democratic government.
He said the APDM was firm on its demand of resignation of President Musharraf, restoration of 1973 Constitution in pre-October 12, 1999 condition and the reinstatement of all deposed judges.
Sindh JI Naib Amir Dr Merajul Huda, meanwhile, said the release of anti-Islam film after republication of blasphemous cartoons showed the real face of West.—PPI
