RAWALPINDI, March 28: A woman expatriate, who was deprived of her purse containing 1,100 pounds, credit cards and driving licence at Islamabad airport last week, has got her stolen money back but has lost all hopes of finding the other items.

“The main concern for my daughter is to get a driving license in Britain, as it is quite difficult and expensive job,” Ms Saeeda, the victim’s mother told Dawn on Friday.

She said her daughter, Zulaikhan Musarat, reached Islamabad on March 23 from Manchester and as she was collecting the baggage in the arrival lounge a man in plainclothes, who identified himself as a porter, offered her help. The man carried the luggage and then left.

When Ms Musarat made a stopover at a restaurant near Gujar Khan on her way to Jhelum, she realised that her purse had been stolen.

“We immediately returned to Islamabad airport where we lodged a complaint and my daughter assured the authorities that she can identify the man if he was produced before her,” Ms Saeeda said.

The Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel presented pictures of some notorious people, and the victim without any doubt identified the accused.
