Condition for CNG stations relaxed

KARACHI, March 28: The federal government has allowed the provisional CNG licence holders to import required machinery for setting up filling stations or purchasing them from the approved local manufacturers of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, provided they have completed all the formalities including obtaining of no-objection certificates (NOCs), land acquisition.

According to officials in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources here on Friday, the decision was taken last week by the PM Secretariat (Public) in response to the plea of Petroleum Ministry of February 28, seeking clarification from the PM’s Secretariat regarding the decision of January 6, 2008 for stopping CNG licences.—APP
