ISLAMABAD, March 27: National Highways and Motorway Police have reunited three lost children with their parents, a spokesman for the police said here on Thursday.

Motorway Police officers were on their routine patrolling on GT Road in the area of Jhelum, when they observed two desperate children of nine and ten years of age wandering on road.

According to the police, Usman Ali and Ahsan Hayat residents of Islamabad had gone to picnic but the driver’s negligence had left them stranded.

The officers took the children in their custody and traced their parents and after due verification, these children were handed over to their heirs.

In another incident, Motorway Police officers were on their routine patrolling on GT Road near Mandra, where they observed a minor child of six years weeping on the road.

On asking, the child told his name Tassadaq Hussain resident of Daultala who had forgotten his home.

The police officers took the child in their custody and made untiring efforts to trace his parents and handed him over to his parents.

In third incident, the Motorway Police officers Junior Patrolling Officer Shakeel Nawaz Khan and Assistant Patrolling Officer Kaleemulla were on guard duty on the main gate of NH&MP Headquarters, Islamabad, where they observed that a young child of 15 years of age who was weeping on the road and was in desperate condition.

When asked the child told them that his name is Sheharyar Amjad resident of Islamabad. He further told that he has left home due to dispute with his mother as she beats him and now he is worried where to go back.

The police officers counselled him and later handed him to his parents.
