Port Qasim

KARACHI, March 25: Four ships carrying containers, furnace oil and iron ore were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with palm oil, diesel oil and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 70 per cent at the wharves where seven ships, Maersk Montana, Nedlloyed Europa, Gemini, Nord Vision, Artaki, Vanguard Viking and Dong Sheng Ocean, were busy in loading and unloading containers, palm oil, wheat, furnace oil, iron ore and coal.

A cargo volume of 101,710 tons comprising 77,705 tons of import and 23,004 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only Maersk Montana left the port while Nord Vision and Artaki were expected to depart on Tuesday.
