PM-elect arrives in Karachi

KARACHI, March 24: Prime Minister-elect Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani arrived here on Monday night from Islamabad to attend the wedding ceremony of his son Abdul Qadir Gilani who was married to daughter of Pir Sadaruddin Shah Rashdi -- granddaughter of Pir Saheb Pagara.

Mr Gilani travelled from Islamabad by a regular PIA flight.

At Karachi airport, he was received by the president of the PPP, Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, and the party’s parliamentary leader in the Sindh assembly, Pir Mazharul Haq.

Talking to mediapersons at the airport, the prime minister-elect said: “We are working for supremacy of parliament.” He said that all issues would be resolved through parliament.—APP
