PESHAWAR, March 24: NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani Monday said that all the options were being utilised for safe and sound recovery for the missing Pakistan ambassador to Afghanistan, Tariq Azizuddin, who went missing on February 11 last en route Kabul in Khyber Agency.

Talking briefly to reporters after attending convocation of Islamia College here, the governor said the government was actively engaged in efforts to ensure safe recovery of the ambassador. He denied the impression that the abductors had killed the ambassador.

To a question, he said, the new NWFP government would get his full support and backing in efforts aimed at uplift of the Frontier province. He said special security plan had been chalked for the inaugural session of the NWFP Assembly scheduled for April 2, 2008.

In reply to a question, Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani strongly condemned the incident of burning of oil tankers at Torkham the other day and added that special trade policy would be evolved for improving trade ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan. — APP
