KARACHI, March 19: The decomposed body of a sub-inspector, who had been missing for five days, was found in Surjani Town. Police said the body, wrapped in a polythene bag thrown in a manhole in Abdullah Colony, was spotted by a passerby who informed police.

Saeedabad police said SI Asghar Ali Meyo, posted at the Police Training Centre, Saeedabad, had been missing since March 14, and his younger brother had lodged the FIR of his kidnapping some four hours before his body was found.

ASI Mohammed Salim Warsi said the police officer, who had two wives, lived at the police quarter in Saeedabad along with his first wife. “His second wife lives in Faqira Goth,” he added.

Surjani Town police shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.
