Protests in Tibet condemned

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 18: Pakistan on Tuesday denounced protests in Tibet and said the country was firmly opposed to any attempt to undermine China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Sadiq said at his weekly briefing that Pakistan opposed any attempt to politicise and subvert the Beijing Olympic Games, including the violent protests by certain vested interests aimed at tarnishing the spirit of the games by encouraging violence in Tibet.
