HYDERABAD: Students get cash prizes

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, March 18: The University of Sindh on Tuesday awarded cash prizes to meritorious candidates who secured highest score in the pre-entry test for admission to the university’s bachelor degree programme for academic session 2008.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Mazharul Haq Siddiqui awarded prizes among the students in the presence of pro-vice chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, deans of faculties, Registrar Mohammad Saleh Rajar, senior professors and heads of departments and the students’ parents.

Mr Siddiqui congratulated the students and their parents and said that the awards were a result of hard work and dedication shown by the candidates.

He exhorted the students to continue hard work for achieving ever greater milestones in their life and bring good name to the university.

It was encouraging to see that the students were taking keen interest in the disciplines of social sciences and humanities. The two subjects were essential for strengthening society, he said.
