In-laws torture, poison woman

BAHAWALPUR, March 17: A pregnant woman was allegedly physically tortured and then poisoned by her in-laws at Chak 60/DB near Yazman, here on Monday.

Police said victim Anela in her dying declaration said her husband Nazir Ahmed, mother-in-law Khursheed Bibi and brother-in-law Abdul Rashid subjected her to severe torture, tied her up to a cot during the night and later administered poison to her. She later died at Yazman THQ hospital. Police arrested two of the accused while the victim’s husband managed to escape. — Correspondent
