By Our Correspondent

Haleemullah Memon raided the Shah Abdul Latif University police checkpost and freed Mohammad Nawaz Morejo, who had illegally been detained there for five days.

The raid commissioner took record of the checkpost into custody and directed its in-charge to appear before the court on Monday.

Altaf Morejo, the brother of the detainee, had filed a petition in the court regarding illegal detention of Mohammad Nawaz.

In another raid on Agra checkpost, the raid commissioner recovered two brothers, Muharram Ali and Khams Ali Kalhoro, who had been illegally detained there over the past week.

Gul Bahar Kalhoro, a relative of the detainees, had filed a petition in the court, seeking release of the two from illegal detention.

Protest: A large number of tail-end farmers of Faiz Gunj Wah, Ali Nawaz Wah, Pandhro Wah and Veeho Wah staged a demonstration outside the press club in Pakka Chang to protest against shortage of water.

They alleged that land of influential growers at the upper stretch of the canals had been excluded from water rotation programme whereas the tail-end areas had to cope with more shortages than their share.
