Students angry over fee hike

Published March 16, 2008

JACOBABAD, March 15: The Jamiat Talba Islam observed a protest day throughout the district on Saturday against the increase in fees in educational institutions of Sindh.

Protest rallies and demonstrations were taken out in Jacobabad, Thul, Garhi Khairo, Mubarakpur, Bahoo Khoso and other towns and villages.

JTI leaders Zahid Hussain Rind, Taj Mohammad Amroti, Hamadullah Ansari and others condemned the increase in fees in educational institutions of Sindh and termed it a conspiracy to snatch basic right of education from poor students.

They said that heavy fees were being charged from students of colleges and university which negate the claim of the government of access to education for everyone. They demanded reduction of fees at college and university level.—BoC
