BANGKOK, March 15: Thai police say a Swedish tourist has been found dead on a beach in Thailand.

The woman’s body was discovered on Saturday afternoon in Phuket, one of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations, police say.

The woman, a 27-year-old, was visiting Phuket with two friends.

One of the woman’s travel companions discovered her body midday on Saturday on a beach near the bungalow they had rented, said police Lt-Gen Sakchai Limcharoen.She appeared to have been attacked with sharp objects, Sakchai said.—AP
