KARACHI, March 15: Three ships carrying containers and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, four more ships with containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer.

Eight ships, APL Almandine, Maersk Novazzano, Leopard-B, Atlantic, Yas Pembe, Qem Star, Vanguard Yikinig-I and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, canola seeds, chemicals, furnace oil and iron ore.

Cargo handling activity was brisk at the wharves where a total tonnage of 123,000 tons comprising 97,000 tons of import and 26,000 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Kaghan, APL Almandine and Qem Star sailed out, while Vanguard Yikinig-I and Maersk Novazzano were expected to depart.
