ISLAMABAD, March 14: A violent man, presumably suffering from psychopathic disorder, allegedly shot dead his brother, wife and sister-in-law in Tarnol on Friday, police said.

Investigation officer sub-inspector Mukhtar Ahmed told Dawn that the killer, Yasir Shah, a resident of Tarnol, had married Nazia Bibi a year ago and the woman was currently visiting her parents’ house located in the same area.

On Friday, Yasir woke up in the morning and murdered his brother, Abid Shah, and set the house on fire.

Later, he reached the house of his in-laws where he first gunned down his wife and then also shot dead his sister-in-law Sadia Arbab using a 12-bore shotgun.

The police said Yasir’s brother-in-law narrowly escaped death during the attack.

The killer is reported to be on the run after committing the triple murder.

SUICIDE: A 35-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself in his house in the Civil Lines area on Friday, the police said.

Shahzad Ali was found hanging from a rope tied to the ceiling fan when his mother entered the room.

Police said Shahzad, who wanted to marry a girl of his choice, had been in distress after his father rejected the proposal.

The victim left no suicide note, but he had reportedly told his parents that he would commit suicide if they did not honour his wish.

Meanwhile, a gang of three robbers stormed a house in Quaid- i-Azam Colony in broad daylight on Thursday and snatched gold ornaments and Rs10,000 in cash from women inmates.

Dilawar Abbas Malik, a resident of Street No. 3, told the Sadr Bairooni police that his wife Ruqaya Noreen and mother Kulsoom Akhtar were home when the robbers entered the house.

One of the culprits kept holding the two women at gunpoint as his accomplices ransacked the place.

The robbers also snatched three gold rings and two gold bangles from Ms Noreen and two gold rings and four gold bangles from Ms Akhtar.

They also took away Rs10,000 and gold jewellery kept in the cupboards.
