PESHAWAR, March 14: The District Council of Peshawar has announced formation of new district monitoring committees, which were dissolved on Tuesday when members expressed dissatisfaction over their performance.

The council meeting was held on the fourth consecutive day at the District Council Hall here on Friday with convener Razaullah Khan Chagharmati in the chair. During the meeting eight out of 12 monitoring bodies were formed while members showed no interest in the remaining four due to lack of funds.

As the convener of the council asked the members to register their names for the committees most of the members, 24 persons both men and women, opted for the Social Welfare Committee and did not show any interest in the Seerat Committee and Justice Committee.

Members of the committees were elected through secret ballots. As per result Begum Tamash was elected chairperson Human Resource Committee, Ejaz Khalil as vice-chairperson and Sardar Alam general-secretary of the body.
