Eight people kidnapped

SUKKUR, March 13: Armed bandits kidnapped five traders near Sukkur Toll Plaza in the limits of Rohri police station and snatched three people near Hngorja in a separate incident late on Wednesday night.

Mohammad Shakir Memon, Mohammad Saqib Memon, Mohammad Farooq Memon, Mohammad Kamran Memon and Mohammad Zubair Memon were returning from Toll Plaza in a car when the bandits kidnapped them.

They had gone there to attend a religious gathering, DPO Arab Mahar said that police of Sukkur and Khairpur districts had been put on high alert and were making concerted efforts to recover the hostages.

The president of Halar Memon Jamaat Iqbal Dawood Pakwala, former federal minister and Pakistan People’s Party leader Islamuddin Shaikh and president of Sukkur Small Traders Association Haji Haroon Memon contacted the RPO Rahoo Khan Brohi and requested him to ensure early recovery of the hostages.

In another incident, armed bandits kidnapped three people along with a car near Hingorja late on Wednesday night.
