KARACHI: Industrial areas to receive Rs1 billion
KARACHI, March 13: Caretaker Sindh Minister for Industries Arif Ali Abbasi has said that the Sindh government will provide Rsl billion to four industrial areas of Karachi for development of infrastructure facilities there.
Talking to a joint delegation of the North Karachi Industrial Area Association and the Landhi Industrial Area Association at his office here on Thursday, the minister said that Development and Management Companies (DMCs) have been formed in Korangi, Landhi, Federal B Area and North Karachi Industrial Areas for the utilization of these funds.
So far, Rs250 million has been released each to Korangi and Federal B Area, he said, adding that the remaining two would also get this amount soon.
Abbasi said the DMCs have been assigned to improve infrastructure facilities such as water, sanitation and road sectors in their respective industrial areas.
Meanwhile, Sindh caretaker Home Minister retired Brig Akhtar Zamin said on Thursday that efforts are being made on a priority basis to further beef up security in industrial zones of the metropolis.
He was addressing a joint meeting of police high-ups and industrialists of the Super Highway industrial area.—APP/PPI
