KARACHI: 250MW power plant
KARACHI, March 13: The Sindh caretaker chief minister, retired Justice Abdul Qadir Halepota, has directed the secretary irrigation and the managing director of the Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority (Sida) to examine various issues related to the establishment of a power generation plant at Qadirpur in District Ghotki.
Engro Energy is planning to set up a 250- megawatt power plant costing $200 million. In this connection, the CEO of Engro Energy called on the Sindh chief minister here at the Chief Minister’s House to discuss various issues pertaining to power tariff and lease of land for the plant.
Briefing the chief minister about the project, the Engro Energy official stressed the need for an early decision on the tariff issue so that the work on the plant’s installation could be started at the earliest and completed within the specified timeframe.—APP
