PESHAWAR: ‘New govt to seek share in hydel, tobacco income’

PESHAWAR, March 11: Minister-designate for local government and rural development, Bashir Ahmed Bilour, has said that the new provincial government will ensure obtaining its hydel net profit and due share of the revenue generated from the province’s tobacco produce from the centre.

Talking to delegations of notables of the city here on Tuesday, he said that a ‘stable’ government was going to be formed at the centre, which he hoped would address both the issues ‘amicably’.

Mr Bilour said that the provincial government would also focus on revival of peace, accelerating economic and developmental activities and creating maximum job opportunities in the province.

He said that better facilities of health, education, communication, water supply, and sanitation would be provided to the residents of Peshawar, which he added, would be converted into an exemplary metropolis.

Bashir Bilour asked the people to fully cooperate with the new government in maintaining peace and improving the development process.

He said that people could approach him any time and the doors of his office and home would always remain open.

He assured the delegations of resolution of their problems on priority basis.—PPI
