Strike againstderogatory sketches

SHEIKHUPURA, March 10: A shutter down strike was observed here on Monday to protest the republication of blasphemous caricatures by the Danish media.

The strike call was given by traders’ associations to express their resentment over the unholy act of the European country’s media.

Traders, religious and social circles, civil society organisations and citizens took out processions and rallies. The protesters carrying banners and placards marched on city roads and chanted slogans, urging the government to cut off diplomatic relations with the Danish government as well as boycott Danish products.

Religious scholars said that the whole Muslim Ummah was deploring the Danish media while the rulers preferred keeping a mum because their western friends were dictating them.
