KHANEWAL, March 10: A police constable facing negligence charges in a thief escape case also fled from the Railways police on Monday.

Constable Muhammad Arshad was wanted for negligence when accused Shahid Wasim, held by the Railways police for cable theft, fled from his custody on Sunday.

Wasim, an alleged career thief, ran away from a toilet at Kohna police station when the constable and the accused were returning from a court.

The Railway police registered a case against the constable. When police officials tried to arrest him on Monday, he escaped. Police are after the constable.
