Cotton outlook

NEW YORK, March 10: The US Department of Agriculture will make few notable adjustments to its US cotton demand or production estimates with the likely exception being a cut in its outlook for US exports, analysts said on Monday.

The USDA’s latest cotton supply/demand forecasts for the 2007/08 crop are due on Tuesday.

In February, USDA said it sees the 2007/08 US crop at 19.03 million (480-lb) bales. For 2007/08 US cotton exports, it forecast 15.7 million bales.—Reuters
