NZ retain same squad for 2nd Test

HAMILTON, March 9: New Zealand have named an unchanged squad from that which beat England by 189 runs in the first Test on Sunday for next week’s second match in Wellington.

South African-born all-rounder Grant Elliott and pace bowler Mark Gillespie, who were released to play for Wellington against Auckland in a four-day game, will rejoin the squad ahead of the Test at the Basin Reserve.

Medium-fast bowler Iain O’Brien, who was replaced by Gillespie after injuring his toe ahead of the first Test, was left out because of the injury.

The second Test of the three-match series begins at on March 13, with the final Test at Napier’s McLean Park from March 22-26.
