Shariq excels in defeat
KARACHI, March 9: Shariq Dhanani’s heroics failed to save Beaconhouse Jubilee Campus from tasting a 65-87 defeat against Habib Public School Greens in the final of the Inter-school basketball tournament at the latter’s premises on Saturday.
Shariq won the hearts of the crowd with his sharp shooting skills and emerged top scorer of the final with a tally of 41 points.Hamid Ali Khan (26), Taha Usman (21) and Affan Arif (20) were the main scorers for the Habibians who have snatched the title. Holders City School PAF Chapter did not defend their title.
The volleyball final between Hamdard Public School and Habib Public School, to be played sometime next week, will mark the conclusion of sports festival. Gymnastics and table tennis were the other two events held during the gala.—Sports Correspondent
