KARACHI, March 6: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has condemned the ‘manhandling’ of its parliamentary leader in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

Addressing a press conference at the Khursheed Memorial Hall here on Thursday, deputy convener of the MQM’s coordination committee Dr Farooq Sattar said Tahir Khokar, who had tabled a resolution in assembly seeking clarification regarding the inclusion of certain people in a delegation led by AJK Prime Minister Attique Ahmed Khan’s son Usman Attique and he was roughed up by Muslim Conference legislators Hafiz Hamad Raza, Qayyum Niazi and Murtaza Gillani.

Terming it a shameful incident in parliamentary history, Dr Sattar called for the arrest of legislators involved in the incident and suspension of their memberships of the assembly.

Calling for immediate action, he said the MQM reserved “the right to protest against the the Muslim Conference’s attitude”.
