EDO education office raided, record seized

DADU, March 6: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) officials raided the office of the EDO education here on Thursday and seized the record.

The raiding team was led by the Dadu circle officer of the ACE, inspector Zakir Hussain Samoon, and civil judge Ali Gul.EDO education professor Abdul Jalil Ahmed Akhund was not present at the time of the raid.

Mr Samoon later told journalists that they had received complaints about posting of junior teachers over senior teachers. He said the EDO had promoted junior teachers illegally.

He said the team had seized the record of contingency and development funds, while the EDO education had been asked to give in further record.

The DCO has suspended financial powers of the EDO education and directed the treasury office to stop all payment.

Meanwhile, the primary schoolteachers took out a rally to protest against the EDO education.

Led by the president of the Primary Teachers Association (Dadu chapter) Lal Haider Qureshi and general secretary Imtiaz Lund, the teachers marched on main roads of the town and held demonstration on the Katchery Road.

They said 250 junior primary schoolteachers were promoted illegally by the EDO education and the treasury office was also releasing their salaries.
