KARACHI, March 6: Five ships carrying wheat, containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Gulf Bridge, Filippa, Orient Stride, Cape Negro to unload and load containers and OBS Swathy to unload phosphate were berthed after the departure of four.

The ships which departed included Augusta Arnis, Sinar Bintan and APL Shenzhen, while Gulf Bridge, San Jiang Kou, Filippa, Cape Negro, Sealo-1, and Pos Knight are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity was on the lower side as the total tonnage fell to 62,674 tons comprising 16,553 tons of export cargo including rice and cement and 36,121 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Orbit with 28,750 tons of imported wheat, Noor-i-Madina to load cement, Lalazar with crude oil, Stolt Heron, Calvin P. Titus with containers.
