Trader slain

Published March 6, 2008

VEHARI, March 5: A trader was slaughtered on resistance at Chak 125/W.B in Mailsi city police precincts on Tuesday night.

Reports said a dacoit entered the mobile phone shop of Riaz Sajid and demanded keys of the safe. On offering resistance, the accused attacked Riaz with a sharp knife and fled. The shopkeeper succumbed to his injuries on way to Mailsi THQ Hospital.

Later on, some rickshaw drivers caught the assailant due to his blood-stained clothes and handed him over to the police.

Some neighbours claim that the accused is an old friend of Riaz.
