SANGHAR, March 5: Accountant-General of Sindh Zulfiqar Ali Qadri has assured protesting employees of education department that their salaries would be released after issuance of a notification.

Some 320 lower staff of education department staged a demonstration outside the district council building while the AG Sindh was visiting the office. They complained that they had not received salaries for nine months.

EDO education, Niaz Ahmed Leghari, tried to pacify the protesters but they refused to oblige him. Later, Mr Qadri told the protesting employees that they were issued appointment letters before lifting of ban on recruitment in government departments. He said that if they brought a copy of notification, their salaries would be released as was done in the case of employees from Matiari.

Meanwhile, the AG Sindh inaugurated computerisation of record of salaries and pensions of 18,000 employees of Sanghar district at a ceremony. Among others, District Nazim Khuda Bux Rajar and DCO Rasool Bux Samejo spoke on the occasion.
