KARACHI, March 5: Six ships carrying chemicals, steel and to load clinkers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was light as only three ships, Arnis, Augusta and APL Shenzhen to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of as many.

Cape Arago, Swat and Helenc left the port, while Arnis, Augusta, APL Shenzhen and Sam Jiang Kou are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 49,843 tons comprising 25,857 tons of export cargo including 7,836 tons of cement and 23,986 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Bengal Orchid with chemicals, Hyundai Advance and Montana, with containers, Pos Knight, Shaheen Al-Gharim-10 to load 31,000 tons and 26,000 tons of clinkers and Vinashin metal with steel cargo.
