KARACHI, March 4: One of the oldest recreational spots in the city, Aziz Bhatti Park, will be revamped and opened to the public after two months under a project worth Rs90 million.
The city government has been spending Rs2.5 billion on the reconstruction of some old parks and development of the new ones for the last two years. “The plan is aimed at providing better recreational facilities to citizens,” said City Nazim Mustafa Kamal while inspecting uplift works at Aziz Bhatti Park on Tuesday.
He said that the park, spread over 30 acres, was established in 1960. However, he said, it was wearing a deserted look with its lawns withered and lake filled with filthy water. In the first phase, he said, Rs60 million would be spent on its reconstruction.—APP
