Port Qasim

KARACHI, March 4: Five ships carrying containers, wheat, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a Port Qasim Authority press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two ships with diesel oil and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy stood at 70 per cent at the wharves where seven ships, Lucia, Maersk Davao, Star Gamma, Karavdos, Nord Merkur, Chemstar Hero and Anastasia, were busy in loading and unloading containers, wheat, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 92,122 tons comprising 70,198 tons of import and 21,924 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were brisk as Halis Kalkavan, Lotus, Liquid Success, Yanaseni, Chemstar Hero and Anastasia left the port while Maersk Davao, Lucia and Nord Merkur were due to depart.
