KARACHI, March 4: Nine ships carrying general cargo, phosphate and to load ethanol and clinkers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven ships, Kapitan Byankin, Sinar Bintan, Cape Arago to unload and load containers, Hopi Princess to load rice, Sealo-4 to load cement, Carla to offload and load general cargo and Helene, to unload palm oil were berthed.

Sailing was also active as eight ships, Westama, Golden Arrow, Jitra Bhum, Daniela, Vabella, Gentle, Nordwoge and Kapitan Byankin departed on Tuesday, while Helence, Cape Arago and Sinar Bintan are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 71,929 tons comprising 37,527 tons of export cargo and 34,402 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Erria Maria to load ethanol, Augusta, Orient Stride, Gulf Bridge, Filippa, Creek with containers, Noor-i-Madina to load clinkers, OBS Swathy with phosphate and Zhen Hua-5 with general cargo.
