KARACHI, March 2: Bazid Khan scored his second century of the match to help Federal Areas earn a draw in the Pentangular Cup tie against NWFP at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar on Sunday.
Bazid followed his 170 in the first innings with exactly 100 off 164 balls as Federal Areas, who were forced to follow-on, reached 296-5 in their second innings on the fourth and final day.
Bazid’s third hundred in the championship was embellished with 13 boundaries and spanned just over three hours. The right-hander, who turns 27 on March 25, was given good support by Ashar Zaidi (75 off 143 balls, nine fours and two sixes) as the two of them put on 169 for the third wicket.
Sohail Tanvir struck a bright 50 off only 39 balls with 10 fours.
Earlier, Federal Areas’ first innings folded up for 390 after they had resumed at 381-8. Nauman Habib claimed four for 76.
