National baseball starts today

LAHORE, March 2: Six matches will be played on the opening day of the 16th National baseball championship, commencing on Monday at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex.

Army, Police, Wapda, Navy, Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan and Islamabad make up the nine teams participating in the championship.

According to the format, the four provinces and Islamabad will play against each other first. The top teams qualify for the second round where they take on the departmental teams.

Punjab takes on Navy while Sindh will face Balochistan on the first day. Punjab’s next match will be with NWFP, while Islamabad locks horns with Sindh. Navy meets NWFP in the fifth match of the day, followed by Balochistan vs Islamabad.
