LAHORE, Feb 29: A young man allegedly killed his mother-in-law over a matrimonial issue in Liaquatabad area on Friday.

Slain Hameedan Bibi of Kashmiri Mohalla had given the hand of her daughter Iffat to Tariq two years back.

The girl returned to Hameedan some months back after developing some differences with her husband.

Police said Tariq wanted to resolve the issue but his mother-in-law would always put her foot down.

Tariq along with his brother-in-law Sadiq visited his in-laws on Friday in a bid to bring his wife back. When Hameedan remained adamant, Tariq got infuriated and opened fire at her with a pistol. Hameedan died on the spot while the accused managed his escape. Police reached the spot and removed the body for autopsy.
