MULTAN, Feb 29: Arif Alvi, the former president of high court bar association, Multan bench, and the Punjab Bar Council member, has refused to assume the office of deputy attorney general.

Talking to Dawn here on Friday, he said he could not endorse the Nov 3 emergency as it would tantamount to sabotage the lawyers’ movement.

It may be mentioned that Arif Alvi had been associated with the Malik Qayyum group.
