Three killed in kidnapping bid
LANDI KOTAL, Feb 29: Three people were killed and two others were injured on Friday in an exchange of fire during an attempt by a group of armed men to kidnap a tribal elder in the Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency.
Sources said that the armed men reportedly belonging to Lashkar-i-Islam chased the vehicle of Malik Guli Shah Kukikhel while he was going to attend a wedding ceremony in Shah Kas in what appeared to be a bid to kidnap him. The guards of Mr Guli Shah opened fire on them.
The assailants fired back and the exchange of fire continued for about an hour.—Correspondent
