KARACHI, Feb 29: Three ships carrying containers, palm oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, two more container vessels also arrived at outer the anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 80 per cent as eight ships, Salah al Deen, Islamabad, Chem Bulk Singapore, Vama Cap, Annoula, Halis Kalkavan, Yanaseni and Blumanau, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, palm oil, furnace oil, wheat, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 97,383 tons comprising 80,983 tons of import and 16,404 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Salah Al Deen and Vema Cap left the port while Chembulk Singapore was due to depart.
