THATTA, Feb 28: Newly-elected legislators of the PML-affiliated Shirazi group have said that their group is a political reality and it will serve people without discrimination.

Talking to Dawn, the MNA Ayaz Ali Shah Shirazi, and MPAs Mohammad Ali Malkani and Shah Hussain Shah Shirazi said the group’s communication with people, equal treatment to all, services for peasants and labourers helped it in retaining popularity and political power for two decades in the district.

They said assassination of Ms Benazir Bhutto jolted the whole nation and they were too equally hurt.

They said the incident diverted political situation and sympathies and the group lost few seats from the district.

However, they said, despite such situation, voters of Thatta again reposed confidence and elected three candidates of Shirazi group.
