NOWSHERA, Feb 28: The caretaker NWFP Chief Minster, Shamsul Mulk Thursday said that the government had kept its word for holding of free and fair elections and now the process of transfer of power to the elected representatives would also be completed within few days with similar spirit.
Addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of Nowshera press club here the caretaker chief minister said, “In a short span of time the government has worked on the agenda of providing relief to the general public without any favouritism.”
He said that the caretaker government worked on the one point agenda of conducting free, fair and impartial elections, adding that the caretakers had no personal agenda.
Shams said that the caretaker government will transfer power to the major victors as soon as possible.
He claimed that apart from holding impartial elections his government had provided a solid foundation to the next government, hoping they would follow their footsteps to put the country on the path of development and prosperity.
The caretaker CM said that the contract system was abolished and all the employees working under the system were made permanent.
Advisor to the NWFP chief minister Hussain Ahmed Khattak, Naib Nazim Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, DIG Mardan Mian Ghulam Muhammad, former MPA Maulana Mujahid Khan, ex-senator Dr Mohammad Rehan, nazims, naib nazims, district councilors and a large number of government officials also participated in the gathering.
The newly-elected president of the Nowshera press club, Mushtaq Piracha, hailed the chief minister for announcing Rs0.3 million grant for the press club.
Those who took oath include President Mushtaq Piracha, Vice President Wajid Ali, General Secretary Asif Khan Zerak, Deputy General Secretary Ziauddin, Finance Secretary Tajmir Shah and others.
