KARACHI, Feb 28: The Sindh government has ordered the Board of Revenue (BoR) to transfer over 0.426 million acres to the Gorakh Hills Development Authority (GHDA) so that the summer resort’s development could be started without any delay.

This directive was issued after the district coordination officer of Dadu identified that around 426,000 acres were available in Kohistan. The land could not be cultivated, therefore it should be utilised to develop the Gorakh Hills Station, the DCO had pointed out.

The official from Dadu gave these details at a meeting held here at the Sindh Secretariat with Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman in the chair. Others who attended the meeting included secretaries of the departments of culture and tourism, works and services, planning and development.

The meeting directed the home department to deploy police personnel atop the Gorakh Hills and the road from Wahi Pandi to Gorakh Hills to maintain law and order in the area.

The tourism department and the director-general of the GHDA have also been directed to complete a master plan study for the provision of Sui gas and a road project by June.

A steering committee was formed to oversee the implementation of the related projects.
