KARACHI, Feb 28: Three ships carrying containers, wheat and furnace oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with containers, wheat and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy remained on the higher side at 80 per cent at the wharves where nine ships, Nedlloyed Asia, Ibn Battotah, Islamabad, Adriatic Wind, Al-Salam-II, Vama Cap, Annoula, Halis Kalkavan and Blumanau, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, palm oil, wheat, diesel oil, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 99,289 tons comprising 75,795 tons of import and 23,494 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Nedlloyed Asia, Ibn Battotah, Adriatic Wind and Al-Salam-II left the port.
