MITHI, Feb 27: Two People’s Party activists were seriously injured in Chhachhro town on Wednesday when some PML-Q workers, reportedly, attacked them in their house and forced them to remove the PPP flag hoisted there.

PPP workers claimed that three brothers of MPA Abdul Razzaq Rahimoon, Shoukat, Zulfiqar, Akhtar Parvez, besides six other PML-Q men armed with axes and clubs, forcibly entered the house of Doongro Meghwar on Wednesday, misbehaved with women at home, attacked and injured PPP supporters Doongro Mal and Poonam Chand Meghwar, who were rushed to Hyderabad for medical treatment, later on.

The attackers pressurised the Meghwars to remove the PPP flag that was hoisted at their house, they said.

The Chhachhro police have registered a case against the PML activists. However, no arrest was made till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, PPP’s Tharparkar district president Mahesh Kumar Malani has demanded of the government to get some members of the Tharparkar District Council, allegedly kidnapped by the Arbabs, released.

In a press release, the PPP leader alleged that the Arbabs had kept the council members in illegal detention in the Mithrio Malkani village.
