KARACHI, Feb 26: The first three races of the day, including the feature event, are likely to be dominated by horses from the same connections when the Gymkhana race meeting takes place at Karachi Racecourse on Wednesday.

Either six-year-old chestnut Terrorist or four-year-old bay filly Taizper are tipped to shine by sprinting to glory in the second race, which is also supporting event.

The two stable mates, who finished off the board in the last couple of runs, possess sound form and fitness to make amends if backed by the connections.

Terrorist and Taizper were deprived to show their form on Sunday following cancellation of the sixth race due to late withdrawal of mare Lady Conqueror. They will be up against 10 opponents in the five-furlong race.

Their likely challengers are colts Reyan The Great and Play Boy.

In the next, filly Sugar Sweet who too has been off colour in the recent past has an outright chance to land the feature event. To be ridden by jockey Zaki Zakir, the filly comes into reckoning on good handicap and may overcome the victory jinx which has eluded her.

Baap Re Baap and Lion Of Arab have bright prospects to follow Sugar Sweet for the places.

After the success of Tier Jee and Tube Jee in the last two outings, three-year-old chestnut colt Sayeen Jee looks certain to land the opener.

Sayeen Jee should have to overcome Guess It’s Me and Khyber in a field of 16 aspirants barring last minute withdrawals.

Mare Silent Love is poised to make it a two-in-a-row should she set the pace and beat The Choice Of The Day, Cape Town, Make Millions and Canon Ball.

Filly Love Pakistan and bay Fascinate should make amends by claiming the remaining two races. A card of six races — five to be gone over five furlongs and two to 4½ furlongs — have been drawn for the day.

The first race gets into action at 2.00pm.
