U-17 football event kicks off

LAHORE, Feb 25: Six matches were decided on the first day of the Punjab Inter-district U-17 football championship at different grounds on Monday.

Bhakhar defeated Khushab 4-0 after taking 2-0 lead at the interval. Wajid (2), Adnan (1) and Wasif (1) were the scorers.

Jhang defeated Sheikhupura 1-0 with Aamir scoring the solitary goal of the match.

Toba Tek Singh defeated Gujranwala 2-0 with Imran and Irfan scoring one each.

Mohammad Muqeem scored the lone goal of the match to help Mandi Bahauddin beat Sialkot 1-0.

Two goals each from Mohammad Usman and Habib Akram enabled Faisalabad to outclass Kasur 6-0. Ali Raza and Wahab chipped in with a goal each.

Two-goal Babar Hussain steered Nankana Sahib to 4-0 win over Rawalpindi. Awais and Sajjad banged home one goal each.
