LAHORE, Feb 25: The anti-motorcycle lifting staff claimed on Monday they had busted a gang and recovered five motorcycles, two cell phones besides illegal weapons from their possession.

The accused confessed to 10 incidents of motorcycle snatching and lifting, during preliminary interrogation.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Malik Iqbal had directed DIG (investigation) Tassaduq Husain to take effective measures for curbing the incidents of motorcycle snatching and street crimes.

A police team, headed by SP (CRO) Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh, collected the particulars of the Amjad Husain alias Habib gang and arrested its four members. Police recovered five motorcycles, two pistols, one pump action, two cell phones and bullets from them. Cases have been registered against them, and further investigation is under way.
