Forest wood burnt

TOBA TEK SINGH, Feb 25: Timber and firewood worth hundreds of thousands of rupees was gutted as a result of fire which broke out in the government forest near the Shorkot Rafiqui airbase in the area of Chak 1 (Kugh) on Monday.

Fire brigade vehicles from PAF and Toba Tek Singh, Gojra and Kamalia TMAs’ controlled it after a three hours struggle.

The cause of the blaze could not be known.

BAR STRIKE: Lawyers continued their one-hour strike on the call of Pakistan Bar Council.

A DBA meeting was also held with president Mian Shoaib Muhammad in chair which decided that lawyers would go to Lahore on March 9 to join the long march from Lahore to Islamabad in case the deposed judges were not restored till March 7.

The strike was also observed by the lawyers of Kamalia and Gojra.
